Off to see Skippy!

This was one of the coolest days ever...

I found out about Morisset thanks to my flatmates:
It's 2 hours by train (from Central to Morisset on the Newcastle line - 12 AUD for a return ticket) and a 1 hour walk (take Fishery Point Road off Macquarie Street and walk 2km to the Morisset Hospital)

Dozens of wild kangaroos are grazing in the park, you can feed them, stroke them, play with them...We had the best time :)

Other than that, my summer plans have changed (again!):
3 weeks up the East Coast
3 weeks in Bali (where Kati will be joining me) - Wira and Sarah I will see you there :)
1 week in Singapore (for my birthday!) - Christos, get ready for trouble!!!

I am then thinking of joining Doro and Clémence (a French girl she met in her hostel) somewhere on the West Coast for 2 weeks or so. They bought a campervan in Sydney a few days ago and have just started their 10-month roadtrip... They are hoping to find fruitpicking jobs in the farms up North.

FYI - They bought their van for 3000 AUD (+added costs: insurance + pink slip). This is apparently the best time to buy vans in Sydney (end of the season - people have finished their roadtrips and are desperate to get rid of their vans). A few tips: always double-check the invoices (a lot of them are falsified), and do NOT go to car dealers. It seems like the good place to go in Sydney is the Car Market from what the girls have told me. All I can say is there are some crazy people out there so beware :s

Happy Easter!

Doro is back in Australia after several weeks in New Zealand and Tonga with her boyfriend Julien - She'll be updating her blog and posting stunning pictures up very soon so be sure to check them out: http://dorotynadventure.blogspot.com/

I showed her around the Central Business District, the Rocks, Circular Quay and the Botanical Gardens on Saturday, and we caught a ferry to Manly (a suburb of Northern Sydney) on Sunday, so here are a few pics...
Coming up soon: the Blue Mountains, wild kangaroos, and the Australian X Factor live auditions show (we've got two tickets!)

I've also kinda figured out what I'm going to be doing in July: 10 days backpacking in Fiji (http://www.feejeeexperience.com/ - thanks for the tip Greg!) followed by the East Coast from Sydney to Cairns! I'll probably go to Perth for the rest of the year, we'll see what happens...And I also want to go to New Zealand at some point - so much to do, so little time!!!
